Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an educational recruitment firm, has been retained by a Jewish school in Rockville, Maryland and is seeking their next Alumni Relations Manager .


Alumni Relations Manager

The Alumni Relations Manager plays a pivotal role within the Development Team, fostering lifelong connections between the school and its alumni community, which includes alumni, alumni parents, and past faculty/staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship Identify and cultivate alumni donors and prospects at all giving levels. Conduct gift solicitations and implement a strategic stewardship program to maintain meaningful engagement with alumni donors.
  • Coordinate, and execute innovative alumni events, often managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Organize alumni regional gatherings and class milestone reunions to foster community connections.
  • Collaborate with graduating juniors and seniors to encourage their ongoing connection to CESJDS post-graduation.
  • Recruit, and partner with alumni volunteer leaders to support and enhance alumni programming.
  • Communications and Outreach Develop and distribute compelling alumni communications, including enewsletters, alumni spotlights, and milestone recognition.
  • Manage and grow alumni social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) to maintain vibrant digital connections and expand CESJDS's global reach.
  • Network Development Build and nurture a global CESJDS alumni network, creating opportunities for professional and personal connections among alumni.
  • Strategically enhance CESJDS’s reputation as a lifelong community for alumni around the world.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date alumni records in Raiser’s Edge, ensuring robust data management systems. Track engagement and analyze alumni data to inform strategy and measure program success.
  • Administrative and team collaboration
  • Maintain organized records, notes, and documents to streamline Development Department operations. Incorporate established systems and protocols into daily work.
  • Collaborate with the Development Team to support School-wide initiatives and strategic goals.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications in related fields a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in alumni relations, development, or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Event planning and project management experience, with a track record of managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in fundraising databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) and social media platforms.
  • Visionary mindset with the ability to innovate and shape the future of Alumni Relations.

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
