Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer designs and implements the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process ensuring the quality, cost and efficiency of products produced.


Compensation: Salaried, exempt based on experience. Bonus Eligible

Travel: None

Location: Kinetico Global Headquarters, Newbury, OH

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluates, recommends and implements production processes that increase efficiency, reduce cost and ensure safety.
  2. Assesses raw materials for manufacturing and recommends changes to increase product quality and reliability and to reduce cost.
  3. Leads cross functional teams focused on product design improvements, new product design and field testing.
  4. Researches automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.
  5. Develops tools and machines and designs new automation equipment or processes to increase productivity and efficiency in all manufacturing areas.
  6. Defines and implements design and process validation plans, performs process failure mode effect analysis, and prepares control plans for manufactured and vended products.
  7. Develops and performs test plans for alternate materials, parts, tools or systems as necessary to introduce improvements.
  8. Writes engineering changes and deviations to document changes to form, fit or function of production parts or manufacturing processes.
  9. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  10. Provides evaluation of returned goods for manufacturing defects, non-conformances, and product issues as needed.
  11. Oversees the dimensional and functional review of manufactured and purchased parts, providing professional guidance and training to quality staff.

What you will need to succeed:

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering with 5-8 years of manufacturing process or manufacturing production experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Training – Preferred Green Belt level, Black Belt a plus.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Experience using CAD and/or CAE Software.
  • Experience with specifying, supporting and troubleshooting automation equipment and ancillary components.
  • Experience with plastic injection molding a plus.
  • Experience with plastic part design a plus.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet proficiency.
  • Good interpersonal/customer relation skills.

Physical Effort and Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing and reaching
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and maneuvering up to 100 pounds with a dolly
  • Frequently exposed to oil and noise
  • Exposure to heat or cold due to seasonal changes
