General Information:
- Overnight travel : Up to 80%.
- Education : Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Associate Degree, trade school, or 5 years of related experience.
- Technical Experience :
- Experience with pneumatics, variable frequency drives, and Allen Bradley PLCs (Siemens PLC and logic experience a plus).
- Ability to troubleshoot, develop, test, and commission PLC and SCADA (iFix and/or Wonderware) control systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as NFPA, NEC, and NEMA.
- Familiarity with electrical wiring practices and troubleshooting.
Job Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Provide on-site engineering services including:
- Equipment FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), commissioning, customer training, validation support, warranty support, troubleshooting, and service for Glatt equipment and control systems at customer and subcontractor sites across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
- Conduct or supervise field installation of controls, new or retrofit equipment, and prepare instructional installation documents for clients and project teams.
- Troubleshoot, develop, test, and commission Allen Bradley PLC control system applications (ControlLogix, PLC-5, SLC) using RSLogix.
- Troubleshoot and customize SCADA application code using WonderWare, Intellution.
- Develop proficiency in understanding and applying Process Automation departmental standards (software, hardware, documentation, etc.) during the development of Glatt control systems.
- Execute software test protocols for control systems.
- Inspect, test, and release Glatt control panels manufactured by external vendors, typically performed on-site at vendor facilities.
- Read, understand, and red-line control system design documents, including diagrams and drawings (P&ID, control system schematics, wiring drawings, pneumatic/hydraulic drawings) and written design specifications (Functional Specifications, User’s Manual, Sequence of Operations).
- Be aware of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) procedures and practices, particularly as they relate to control system development and modifications.
- Act as a liaison between the customer and Glatt when on-site. Communicate project delays, scope changes, customer relationship issues, and technical deficiencies to the Glatt project team and management.
