Data Center Systems Engineer
We're seeking a highly skilled Data Center Systems Engineer to lead the management, enhancement, and protection of mission-critical infrastructure. This role requires a strong background in VMware, Azure, Terraform, and extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker, self-motivated, and thrives in environments requiring minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere private cloud infrastructures, including ESX, NSX, and vCenter, across multiple data centers.
- Oversee disaster recovery tools and processes, including SRM, VRM, and VROPS, ensuring system resiliency.
- Design, support, and maintain secure, high-performance Azure cloud solutions in line with organizational standards.
- Monitor and proactively ensure optimal infrastructure performance and uptime.
- Automate end-to-end infrastructure management and deployment using Terraform.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all environments, ensuring clarity and accessibility for the team.
- Architect and scale VMware systems to meet organizational demands.
- Collaborate across teams to develop hybrid, cloud-native, and on-premises solutions.
- Provide top-tier on-call support to resolve critical infrastructure incidents.
- Rack, cable, configure, and maintain data center hardware components.
- Manage and support Windows Server environments.
- Utilize extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux to support and optimize Linux-based systems.
- Execute additional tasks to ensure seamless operations and meet organizational goals.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience managing VMware environments, Azure cloud infrastructure, and Terraform in hybrid and on-premises setups.
- Advanced expertise in VMware technologies such as vCenter, ESX, NSX, SRM, VRM, and VROPS.
- Proficiency in Azure cloud services, Windows Server OS, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Strong understanding of networking infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN) and protocols like TCP/IP and FCoE.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-class storage systems, hardware protocols, and fabrics.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, formal patch management, and change control processes.
- Creative problem-solving skills for infrastructure design and optimization.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- VMware VCP-NV certification.
- Azure AZ-104 certification.
- Additional experience working with Linux operating systems.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
