Millis Development & Construction is a general contractor that focuses on commercial construction projects that have a landscape architect as the lead consultant. We provide our clients with quality large-scale parks, recreation centers, bridges, hardscape, and landscape which become the framework for active communities.


About the Role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our dynamic and growing Dallas team. In this role, you will identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and expand our client base in the construction industry. You will work closely with the leadership team, project managers, and marketing team to align business development strategies with the company’s objectives.


Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Networking:

  • Identify and establish relationships with prospective clients, architects, and industry professionals.
  • Attend industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows to promote the company’s services and build a robust client pipeline.


Market Analysis:

  • Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities in the construction industry.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.


Client Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and ensure their satisfaction with services provided.


Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve sales and revenue targets.
  • Monitor progress toward goals and adjust strategies as needed to meet company objectives.


Collaboration & Teamwork:

  • Partner with project management, and marketing teams to deliver client-focused solutions.
  • Provide input to improve marketing materials, project presentations, and sales tools.


Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3-8 years of experience in business development or sales in the construction or related industry.
  • Proven track record of securing new business and meeting or exceeding revenue targets.


Skills:

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, industry standards, and market trends.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.


Preferred Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, Construction Management, Business Management or related field.
  • Construction experience working with architecture and development teams.
  • Established network of contacts in the construction industry in the DFW market.


Pay range and compensation package

Base: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year + bonus opportunities
