Description
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Locum/Contract Pathologists to join our Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC) team located in Phoenix, AZ. This Long Term Full-Time Locum/Contract opportunity can be up to 1 year with possible extension options.

  • Pathology experience as an MD/DO Required
  • Up to 1 year contract with possible extension options
  • 2-3 years of experience Needed
  • IHS facility experience preferred helpful
  • Previous Locum Tenens experience preferred
  • Board certification in Pathology preferred
  • BLS required
  • Work on any US license
  • As a Pathologist , you will be responsible for diagnosing diseases and disorders by examining tissue samples, bodily fluids, and other specimens. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of disease pathology, allowing them to provide accurate interpretations and insights that are vital for patient care. You will collaborate closely with other medical staff to discuss findings, answer questions, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings. As a Pathologist, you will also be involved in the education and training of residents and medical students, sharing your expertise in a way that fosters a new generation of healthcare providers. The role requires a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and ethical practice, while also keeping up with advances in pathology and medical technology.     Responsibilities
    • Examine and interpret tissue and cytology specimens to diagnose diseases.
    • Perform autopsies to determine the cause of death and gather important medical information.
    • Collaborate with other physicians to interpret laboratory results and provide comprehensive patient care.
    • Prepare pathology reports that accurately reflect findings and conclusions.
    • Participate in tumor boards and other clinical meetings to discuss complex cases.
    • Provide guidance and oversee the work of laboratory technicians and medical technologists.
    • Engage in research projects to advance the field of pathology and improve diagnostic methods.

    • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
    • Completion of a residency in pathology.
    • Board certification in pathology (AP/CP or specialty certification).
    • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pathology principles.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with medical advancements.
    • Must be a US Citizen
    • Must be willing to submit to a federal background check
