We are looking for a Sales Training & Development Specialist who will be responsible for the design, development, planning, implementation, and delivery of sales training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of the company’s products (including new products preparing for launch) and services of the sales professionals within the organization. The primary goal for the Sales Training & Development Specialist is to improve sales performance and drive revenue growth and product recognition.
Reporting directly to the Director of Product Management, the Sales Training & Development Specialist will collaborate with functional teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs, and the effectiveness of established programs or training content. Additionally, the Sales Training & Development Specialist will ensure that training resources and delivery methods are kept up to date and effective, and that sales training project/milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

Whether it’s presenting to a packed room or capturing attention through online learning platforms, your excellent communication and presentation skills ensure every message lands with impact. With a knack for instructional design, you craft training programs that not only fit within budget and timelines but also make the most of modern tools. You pair these creative strengths with sharp analytical skills, digging into training data to measure outcomes and continuously improve. And with strong project management skills, you excel at juggling multiple projects in high-pressure environments while ensuring the end results are nothing short of exceptional.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education, or related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in designing multiple sales training curriculum and leading training events in a corporate selling setting and the ability to master the full training cycle.
- Advanced understanding of sales methodologies and techniques.
- Strong understanding of complex technical systems.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills – the ability to clearly present information, engage trainees and facilitate discussions.
- Instructional Design Expertise – ability to plan, organize, and execute training programs within timelines and budget constraints using traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques.
- Technical Proficiency – slideshows, videography, creating e-learning platforms, blogs, learning management systems and other training tools.
- Analytical Skills – ability to analyze training data to measure impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Project Management – strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the lighting and audio industry a plus.
- Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
Responsibilities
Needs Analysis & Program Design : Conduct training needs assessments through surveys, interviews, consultations, and partnering and collaborating with different departments to understand training requirements to ensure alignment with business goals.
Curriculum Development : Design and develop comprehensive, high quality training materials, presentations, handouts, online modules, etc. aligned with training needs.
Instructional Delivery : Facilitate training sessions using various delivery methods like group instruction, e-learning platforms, simulations, hands-on exercises, etc.
Evaluation : Assess the effectiveness of the training programs through post-training evaluations, knowledge checks, etc. to identify improvement areas.
Program Management : Coordinate training logistics like scheduling classes, creating and updating curriculum database, managing participant registration, and tracking training records and completion.
Staying Updated : Stay up-to-date with the latest training methodologies, technologies and industry best practices to enhance training effectiveness.
Sales Onboarding : Design onboarding training sessions for new sales team members and sales representatives.
Travel : Ability to travel ~20%.
