Responsibilities:
The Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist will handle the setup, upgrades, and maintenance of enterprise server systems, including managing physical infrastructure components such as power and cooling for data centers. They will configure and manage virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V, ensuring optimal resource allocation and addressing performance issues as needed.
The role includes managing network connectivity, configuring switches and firewalls, and ensuring secure and reliable operations by implementing appropriate network protocols and prioritization techniques. Deploying and managing storage solutions, including backup and failover strategies, and supporting data migration efforts are also key aspects of the position.
The specialist will oversee directory services by maintaining domain environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy configurations. They will facilitate the migration of legacy systems to modern platforms while ensuring compliance with security standards.
Security responsibilities include implementing secure configurations, managing SSL certificates, and monitoring systems to mitigate risks and address potential incidents. The candidate will also configure remote desktop environments, deploy enterprise applications, and manage tools for remote system monitoring and management.
Additionally, they will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, and providing escalation support to ensure minimal downtime.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a strong academic background in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience. At least five years of experience in managing enterprise-level IT infrastructures is required, along with proficiency in virtualization technologies, server hardware, networking, and storage systems.
Expertise in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and security best practices is essential. Familiarity with industry certifications, such as MCSA, VCP, or CCNA, is preferred.
