The Arc Carroll County is looking to hire a pool or PRN staff for non-restrictive status on-call (PRN) Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in our Community Living/Residential Department. On-call/PRN status means that you will be available to fill in as needed when there is a staffing issue, vacation or an emergency. This department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What does a DSP in Community Living do? You will support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their individual pursuit of a fulfilling life by working as part of a team in a small residential home setting. You will support residents with life skills and household tasks such as meal planning and preparation, laundry, and light housework; as well as assist with personal care, administer medications, and provide transportation as needed.

COMPENSATION:
- Pay Rate: $18.74 per hour, in compliance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work law.
- $2.00 shift differential for weekend shifts.
- Overtime pay available.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points on record.
- Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to pass background check (The Arc provides programs, services, and direct care to vulnerable adults).
- Ability to successfully pass a drug and health screenings.
- Ability to complete CPR, First Aid, Certified Medication Technician, and other trainings mandated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and The Arc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift/manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently with ability to lift, carry and/or exert force in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally.
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing required: Including lifting a wheelchair and repositioning an individual.
- Ability to transfer individual from a chair to vehicle, bed to chair. Ability to position individual on a sling or Hoyer lift. Ability to physically secure individual in a wheelchair to the van with tie-downs.
