JOB DESCRIPTION

Operating as one of the world's largest energy delivery systems across clean energy, electric, gas and steam services.
The Substation Projects Engineering department is looking for an Estimator to support the Station Projects Manhattan/Staten Island section. In this role, you will be working on transmission and distribution construction projects and provide exemplary customer service, demonstrate a high energy level, and able to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
You will be responsible for developing complex appropriation cost estimates for multidiscipline substation construction projects and transmission facilities based on scope of work, preliminary drawings and sketches. Must understand order of magnitude estimates, construction estimates, and portray the necessary thought processes to support capital projects such as, equipment replacement and new substation builds, and deliver accuracy to senior/lead engineer's. Looking for an individual who is well versed in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering disciplines.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
2+ experience in developing electrical, mechanical and or civil cost estimates for substations, transmission, and/or construction projects.
An understanding of the capital budget process for the preparation of authorization and appropriation estimates.
Experience Construction Estimating Software, such as HeavyBid.
Computer proficiency is required including knowledge of Microsoft Project/Office and estimating computer applications and databases.
Familiarity with local, state, national, and industry codes and standards.
Strong organizational, teamwork, leadership, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills are essential.
Local to NYC and ability to work 3 days/week onsite.
