Requirements:
- 5-10 years’ Experience as Construction Safety Manager
- 5+ years’ experience with Data Center construction
- Experience conducting audits and field walkthroughs to ensure safety adherence
Plus:
- Experience with oil & gas or anything with big, large scale project construction
Day to Day:
The main function of a supervisor/manager – production is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.
Role will be 80% in the field and 20% some admin work in terms of reports and safety audits as well as special projects
Job Responsibilities:
• Implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
• Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
• Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
This resource will also potentially be needed periodically to respond to a site to intervene when there is an increase in safety incidents. Currently the DCX Microsoft Construction Safety Managers respond to the site to perform a “deep dive” and help facilitate an improvement strategy. A senior level safety manager may be requested to respond on their behalf if they are unable due to other conflicts.
The DCX organization is also in the process of EHS program development. The EHS Advisors on the individual sites will play a role in the development of baseline regulatory procedures. This Senior Safety Manager may be utilized to support the coordination and implementation of these SMPs and / or to support other high level programmatic procedures and policies.
In addition to the anticipated tasks identified above, the Senior Safety Manager will be required to participate in the following:
? Initial orientation in Redmond, WA with all site EHS Managers and Project Executive.
? initial Project Executive – MSFT Safety Manager “workshop” to present objectives and MSFT program and strategy.
? Periodic MSFT Safety Management – Project Executive meetings every 2-3 months. Most of these will be held in Redmond but could be at the various job sites.
