Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing project electrical systems, including one-line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, wiring schematics, and bills of materials.
- Perform design and drafting using 3D platforms such as SolidWorks or Revit , and update/redline drawings as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Field Service, Production, Project Management) to address queries under the guidance of Senior Electrical Engineers and the Engineering Manager.
- Support the sales and application engineering teams with preliminary and final electrical system designs tailored to customer needs.
- Assist in sizing, selecting, and purchasing electrical equipment such as switchgear, starters, variable speed drives, MCCs, transformers, and other electrical components.
- Qualify and select third-party vendors.
- Review customer specifications and provide input for proposals and project work.
- Support the Production Department by resolving issues during fabrication and assembly.
- Establish and oversee QA/QC requirements and perform quality control checks as needed.
- Compile critical electrical operation and maintenance (O&M) information during the design phase and assist in creating IOM manuals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in design/drafting with at least one 3D platform (SolidWorks or Revit) and AutoCAD 2020+ .
- Basic knowledge of electrical calculations, including load analysis, breaker sizing, cable tray/conduit fill, cable sizing, and short-circuit analysis.
- Understanding of NEC, IEC, NFPA, and other relevant codes.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- EIT Certification (Preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internships or hands-on experience in the consulting engineering industry.
- Experience in estimating, bid tabulation, and reviewing vendor compliance.
- Familiarity with QA/QC practices and project documentation processes.
