Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil design, including stormwater management, waterlines, sewer systems, and bridges, with a deep understanding of municipal requirements and standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating company-wide standards for civil designs, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and developing designs tailored to meet client needs and specifications. Additionally, proficiency in CAD Civil 3D and the ability to collaborate with survey teams on base mapping are key components of this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and Implement Company Design Standards: Develop, maintain, and update design standards for civil projects across the organization.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple civil engineering projects simultaneously. Set clear standards, establish project deadlines, assign tasks, and track project progress to ensure timely delivery.
  • Civil Design and Planning: Design and develop comprehensive civil plans, including but not limited to stormwater systems, waterlines, sewer infrastructure, and bridge designs.
  • Client-Centric Designs: Develop tailored designs that align with client requirements, preferences, and specific needs, ensuring that each project reflects both functional and aesthetic goals.
  • Innovative Design Solutions: Work with the project team to brainstorm innovative solutions that meet the client’s vision and adhere to core design principles.
  • Compliance with Municipality Standards: Ensure all civil designs are fully compliant with municipal codes, standards, and regulations. Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure smooth project approvals.
  • CAD Civil 3D Expertise: Maintain strong proficiency in CAD Civil 3D software to create detailed civil designs and plan sets. Ensure accuracy and consistency in all designs produced.
  • Survey Collaboration: Assist with surveys and coordinate with the survey team to ensure accurate base mapping for design development.
  • Quality Control and Review: Review and verify all designs and drawings to ensure they meet internal standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements before submission.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in civil engineering design, with a focus on stormwater, waterlines, sewer, and bridges.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD Civil 3D and other relevant design software. Strong understanding of municipal design requirements and standards.
  • Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, with the ability to meet deadlines, assign tasks, and track progress effectively.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex engineering challenges and provide innovative and practical solutions.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain within a specified time frame.
