Job Description
We are a startup funded by NIH grants, developing innovative technology solutions to improve outcomes for patients affected by substance use disorder. Our team has established collaborations with leading researchers in addiction medicine, and we are working on a platform that aims to transform lives. We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer who will work closely with the Engineering Manager to architect, develop, and scale our platform. This role will be pivotal in supporting clinical trials, additional grants, and the broader commercial deployment of products designed to address Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and opioid use disorder’s impact on parents and children.
This position will report directly to an Engineering Manager and work alongside a team of devops and test engineers to contribute at every stage of the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and be dedicated to creating high-quality software solutions. We are based in Spokane Washington and the due to our grant funding we will give preference to candidates that reside in Spokane County, WA.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to design, document, develop, and deploy technical solutions.
- Develop secure integrations with third-party tools and services using defined APIs.
- Maintain, update, and optimize solution features, in alignment with ongoing project goals.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, manage pull requests, and provide regular feedback to ensure adherence to best practices, maintain high quality code, and foster excellence.
- Contribute to rigorous automated unit, regression, end to end, and integration testing
- Ensure strict adherence to the highest standards for safeguarding user PII and PHI, while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and laws e.g. HIPAA
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in React.js , React Native , Next.js , and/or Nest.js .
- Strong experience with TypeScript and Bash scripting.
- Expertise in database management with PostgreSQL and familiarity with Relational Database Management Systems .
- Hands-on experience developing GraphQL and/or REST APIs.
- Knowledge of cloud computing using Amazon Web Services (AWS) .
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and GitHub .
- Ability to create responsive designs and prototypes using tools like Figma .
- Robust testing practices with frameworks such as Jest , React Testing Library , and BrowserStack .
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes .
- Exposure to the Agile methodology and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under direction, with a focus on meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with Test Driven or Behavior Driven Development
· Experience with automated web user interface testing
· Familiarity with Machine Learning methods and management.
· Familiarity with FHIR and HL7 data exchange formats, including Java HL7 parsers
· Familiarity with secure email standards
· Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility programming requirements
· Familiarity with HIPAA secure data requirements
· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or engineering
· Interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies
· Professional certifications
· Experience contributing to open source projects

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: 70,000 – 120,000 per year
Schedule:
- Our hours are generally tied to normal business hours but may include after hours or weekend work particularly related to major releases or resolution of system problems.

Work Location: Hybrid, with frequent in-office requirements (99201). Preference will be given to candidates that reside in Spokane County, WA or are willing to relocate without relocation funding.
