Our client is the IT division of a global leader in shipping, transport & logistics, and with a team of over 1000 employees, is shaping the future of the industry with cutting-edge technology. We are now looking for a System Engineer to work on some of the most interactive maritime software solutions in the market. This can be hybrid working from home.
System Engineer
1 months onsite in Warren County, New Jersey initially, and then hybrid with 2 days working remotely per week.
$90-115K plus extensive benefits package

To be successful in this role:
You will be a confident System Engineer with strong experience in the information security / technology sector, proven experience with Azure, Azure DevOps and working within CI/CD pipelines. This role reports to a team that is based in Geneva, so you should be comfortable working on projects which are global in scope, particularly India and the EU.
Other requirements for this role include:
- Proven experience with REST API's
- Proven experience in incident management, service request management and troubleshooting using root cause analysis (RCA) techniques
- Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog or similar)
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Must be comfortable in a working from home environment
Other desirable but not essential requirements for this role include:
- Experience of using ticketing systems and use of monitoring and management tools
- Experience with cloud-based solutions around compute, storage, and network (Azure)
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Scripting knowledge (Ansible, Bash, Python, PowerShell)
- ITIL certification
- Practical experience working in an RHEL environment

Specific responsibilities for this role include:
Managing and monitoring of existing systems and infrastructure
Maintaining system documentation to include system reviews and recommendation
Identifying potential issues and proactively proposing solutions and improvements
Securing systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
Fulfilling ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the Company
Contributing to the definition and implementation of project best practices and quality processes
