Jr Audio Video Specialist

Mountain View, CA 94040 ( *Local candidates only)

$32hr (Weekly pay)

12-month contract (Excellent potential for extension or permanent)

Hybrid: Part-time (20 hours a week) Tue-Friday (flexible hours- no more than 5 hours a day or less, unless events)

As the AV Support Specialist, you will provide your audio-visual expertise to be a main point of contact, support the set-up, execution for internal and external events. You will need the ability to set up, run and troubleshoot all general AV equipment (i.e video switchers, projection, audio mixers, lighting equipment and consoles), as well as the ability to set up, run and troubleshoot video conferencing and streaming equipment (i.e encoders, streaming software/hardware and basic network configurations). You will help lead and act as technical representation for our cross-functional partners and vendors to design, manage, and execute Coursera vision. You will utilize metrics to measure success, customer satisfaction, make strategic decisions, and help the team scale. You will partner with cross-functional teams, senior leadership and other regional leaders to ensure a consistent and exceptional AV experience across all of our teams.




Responsibilities:


  • Support, administer and maintain all A/V and videoconference systems and services
  • Troubleshoot issues & support Coursera events both onsite and remotely
  • Produce user documentation and provide staff training
  • Provide subject matter expertise for online collaboration platforms including Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and other emerging technologies/products
  • Assess & recommend technologies, vendors, service providers and consultants
  • Drive innovation and best in class virtual work and collaboration technologies for the company




Basic Qualifications:


  • 1+ year of experience in an AV Support Role and/or education and certifications in Audio Video
  • Experience with videoconferencing, streaming equipment, and software. (Blue Jeans, Zoom, Teams, Webex, Google Meet)
  • Proficient in administering, and supporting Zoom Room systems, Digital Signage and integrated AV controls
  • Must have experience with supporting C-level executives with video conferencing and Audio/Video solutions in on-site and virtual environments
  • Some knowledge of offsite AV support for events
  • Ability to manage virtual, Webinars, in-person, and hybrid events
  • Hands-on expertise as an in-room technician for live corporate functions, adept at running production tools, mixing audio, video switching, and supporting onsite/virtual presenters to deliver a polished AV production experience.
  • Experience with vendor communication and relationships; ordering new equipment etc
  • Must be able to do more than a check list; see the big picture, look for solutions
  • High attention to detail
  • Must have excellent communication skills; ability to work well with team members; big team player
  • Bonus: Experience with advanced AV systems (e.g., Q-SYS, Crestron), live streaming protocols (RTMP, RTSP), and audio/video over IP setups (e.g., Dante).

  • Bonus: Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification
