This is an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Leader to join our client and lead the way in creating exceptional, innovative, and sustainable architectural solutions that inspire and elevate the human experience. Be a leader for a company that has a autonomous, collaborative, challenging, engaging, and rewarding culture and work environment.

As a Senior Architectural Design Leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our architectural projects, leading all phases from concept through completion with exceptional proficiency and expertise. Your deep understanding of design, project management, and construction will ensure our projects meet the highest standards of excellence, aligned with the firm’s goals and ethos of living design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in Design: Spearhead the design process across all phases, ensuring the project aligns with the firm’s vision and client expectations. Uphold the highest standards of design excellence, project management, and execution.
  • Technical Acumen: Navigate and address the technical implications of design decisions while staying attuned to project financial objectives. Ensure that all design choices are informed by a sound understanding of their technical and financial impacts.
  • Documentation & Deliverables: Lead the development of comprehensive project documentation, including producing deliverable drawings and specifications, ensuring clarity, precision, and completeness.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee rigorous Quality Control reviews at each project phase, ensuring conformance with firm standards, contractual obligations, and the original design intent. Focus on quality, accuracy, legibility, completeness, and constructability.
  • Project Coordination: Manage and coordinate effectively across internal disciplines (architecture, interior design, landscape architecture) and with external consultants, ensuring seamless project integration and execution.
  • Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients on technical matters, maintaining clear, professional, and responsive communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Oversee project submissions for regulatory reviews, ensuring compliance with building codes, accessibility standards, zoning regulations, and other authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Construction Administration: Lead the construction contract administration process, ensuring project execution aligns with design intent, budget, and schedule. Ensure team efficiency and effectiveness in all construction-related tasks.
  • Technology & Innovation: Stay current with evolving building technologies and engineering systems, integrating the latest advancements into project work to enhance design and performance.
  • Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts, including project marketing, proposal preparation, and client interviews. Play a key role in securing new business for the firm.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead collaborative design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups. Inspire and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and oversight to foster professional growth and high-performance outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years of architectural experience across diverse project types, with substantial experience in construction administration, is highly desirable.
  • Education: A professional degree in Architecture, Design, or a related discipline.
  • Licensure: Architectural licensure is required.
  • Creative Talent: A highly artistic nature beyond architecture. Demonstrate creative talents and experiences in the arts, life, travel, lifelong learning, and a sense of curiosity.
  • Civic Engagement: Involvement in civic activities such as serving on Boards, Commissions, or other voluntary activities.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced expertise in project design and construction documentation production, high proficiency in Revit, CAD, Ai, graphic design, 3D modeling/visualization software, hand sketching, and drawing.
  • Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information to clients, team members, and consultants.
