Job Summary


The Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing all communications initiatives for Femwell, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission, values, and strategic goals. This role involves creating engaging and effective internal and external communications, managing the employee intranet, and leading initiatives to foster a positive and collaborative company culture. Additionally, the Communications Specialist will play a key role in developing and implementing a comprehensive PR and crisis communication plan.


Essential Job Functions


  • Provide strong writing and editing support across all internal and external communication channels to ensure clear and consistent messaging.
  • Plan, write, and edit corporate communications, newsletters, blogs, and other content pieces.
  • Manage and maintain the company intranet, ensuring all communications are up-to-date, preapproved by the Senior Brand & Content Marketing Manager, and engaging for employees.
  • Research and compile information to support the creation of various content pieces.
  • Craft and distribute Femwell newsletters, calendars, and company announcements, submitting drafts to the Supervisor for final approval.
  • Prepare materials for meetings, including PowerPoint presentations and other necessary documents.
  • Ensure all communications are clear, engaging, and adhere to brand tone and guidelines across all audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to support and execute upcoming initiatives.
  • Attend meetings, take detailed minutes, and ensure accurate documentation of discussions and decisions.

  • Experience in the use of email marketing software (preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of healthcare (preferred but not required)
  • Must have the ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards and organization attendance policies and procedures.
  • Must maintain compliance with all personnel policies and procedures.
  • Must be self-disciplined, organized, and able to effectively coordinate and collaborate with team members.


Education, Experience, Skills, and Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Hybrid rotation schedule and/or onsite as needed.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience.


Physical Requirements


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for prolonged periods while sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
