Job Description

Proximity Lab is hiring a Director of Business Development to work as a key member of our small but mighty team. In this role, you will report to the CEO and work alongside product strategists, researchers and designers to lead growth and shape products and experiences for some of the most well-known companies in the world.

For this role, strong preference will be given to someone in the New England area for those times where it makes sense to collaborate together in our Portsmouth, NH office.


Who we’re looking for

You’re an accomplished business development leader with a passion for results-driven design and technology services and a proven ability to drive sales and build relationships with decision-makers in key vertical markets. You thrive on building relationships and opening doors while employing a metrics-driven approach to achieving results. You’ll bring an entrepreneurial spirit to developing new accounts, expanding existing relationships, and driving revenue growth.


Responsibilities

  • Leverage your existing network and develop new client relationships
  • Manage, qualify and work inbound opportunities including prequalified leads from active engagements with  third-party lead generation vendors
  • Leads account expansion into our existing client base leveraging Proximity Lab’s strong reputation and successful engagements with key leaders and stakeholders
  • Partner with internal teams to align business development efforts with agency capabilities and priorities
  • Explore channel opportunities to increase our reach through advocates and connectors
  • Monitor and analyze key business development metrics to ensure goals are achieved and tactics are adjusted and optimized
  • Collaborate with team members to craft focused and persuasive proposals, pitches, and presentations
  • Stay ahead of market trends to identify emerging opportunities for agency growth


Must-haves

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in services-oriented business development and sales, preferably in a creative / technology  agency setting
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding business development and revenue targets
  • A strong point of view about the best strategies and tactics for achieving qualified  lead, named opportunity, and closed deal metrics
  • Metrics-driven mindset with a focus on measurable results
  • Strong baseline understanding of product / UX design principles and agency operations
  • Experience developing relationships with enterprise clients in software, technology and other key verticals
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
