Boyd RIchards Parker & Colonnelli, a civil defense law firm with offices in Fl and NY, is seeking an experienced full-time litigation Legal Assistant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in insurance defense.
Candidate must be highly organized with strong communication skills and fully computer literate. The candidate MUST be proficient in Word/Outlook, Adobe Pro and excel, and able to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, other attorneys, and staff. The candidate must be able to preparing pleadings, correspondence and other documents. Excellent organizational skills are a must to maintain digital records as we are a paperless firm. Additionally, you’ll schedule meetings, depositions, mediations, file pleading within State and/or Federal portals AND maintain the attorney's calendar. The person in this position may also be assigned other administrative/clerical duties.
A qualified applicant MUST be punctual and interested in a stable long-term position. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, including a 1 hour lunch. Candidate must be able to work independently and comply with all law firm policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Managing files for litigation matters
· Ability to prioritize workload based on deadlines
· Filing pleadings with State/Federal portal(s)
· Communicate with attorneys to assist in all aspects of litigation
Requirements:
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to interact with attorneys, paralegals, and other office staff in a professional manner
· Ability to interact with courts, opposing counsel, and clients in a professional manner
· Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
· Must be able to work as part of a team or individually
· Willingness to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and Adobe Pro
· Knowledge of ProLaw a plus
· Knowledge of State e-filing portal
· Knowledge of CM/ECF and PACER
· Knowledge of Court Procedures for scheduling hearings and submitted orders
Qualifications:
· Advanced knowledge and successful experience in managing a full case load from inception to post-trial
· A self-starter with excellent verbal and written skills
