We are representing an industry leading OEM who is actively seeking a Strategic Purchasing Director to join their scaling organization. Reporting to the President, this candidate lead supply chain strategy and procurement activities of the Purchasing Department while being tasked with optimizing processes, reducing costs, and developing supplier partnerships. Our client a is mid-market privately held company approaching $200M who is experiencing 20% YOY growth. The President and CEO are looking to begin the interview process ASAP!

POSITION OVERVIEW
- Reporting to the President, the Strategic Purchasing Director will be tasked with leading/developing (2) direct reports (Buyers).
- This will be a "hands on" position in which the Director will be responsible for Optimizing Processes, Driving standardization, and most importantly, reducing costs and developing supplier partnerships for Raw Materials, Component Parts, and MRO purchases.
- The position has change management and process development elements to instill best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. The Director will plan, direct and coordinate all procurement activities to limit costs and improve lead times, quality, and customer service.
- Implements strategic procurement function alongside transactional purchasing team.
- Facilitates the shift from business unit transactional purchasing to collaborative group acquisition strategy. Work proactively across departments to create strategy, fully understand product requirements and ensure OEM items meet delivery dates.
- Leads departmental strategic initiatives focused on systemic improvements to ensure achievement of corporate objectives.
- Lead supplier negotiations on spend. Challenge vendor pricing. Initiate and monitor cost savings projects.
- Develops reporting and budgets based on supply and demand, market dynamics and other requirements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Technical field preferred. Advanced education and/or professional certifications considered a plus (MBA, Master's Degree Supply Chain, CPIM, CCP, APICS, etc..)
- Candidate should have at least 3-5 years of Strategic Purchasing experience within leadershpi capacity.
- Candidate acknowledges that this is a "hands on" position that will be forward facing as it relates to team building (personnel development), developing "strategic" supplier partnerships, supplier/vendor negotiations, and process optimization.
