Customer Service Representative
The Shaw Polymers Customer Service Representative (CSR) operates in a team structure serving specific sales divisions and individual regions. Plastic Raw Material Company seeks a professional and motivated collaborator who is seeking growth and has a results-oriented attitude. He or she will be able to interact with all levels of staff and should be able to prioritize their workload while meeting deadlines, and process orders from beginning to end while developing strong relationships with brokers, suppliers, customers, logistics and warehouse providers to manage detailed customer requirements. This role will be based out of our Crown Point, IN location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Accurately and timely process purchase orders from beginning to end validating payment terms, freight terms,
freight costs and pricing
. Participates with investigations to understand why an issue occurred and was escalated; accepting leadership
coaching towards a resolution and continuous improvement
· Respond to inquiries from customers regarding past, current and pending orders
· Maintain database by entering new and updated customer and account information
· Manage domestic and/or export order fulfillment process
· Function as the main point of contact with customers for all customer-related issues
· Maintain effective communication between sales, marketing, operations, and transportation to efficiently
provide answers to inquiries regarding product availability and transportation requirements
· Communicate shipping schedules and details to warehouse/customer location personnel
· Develop strong relationships with carriers, logistics and warehouse providers to maintain high service levels to
customers
· Backup support for other Customer Service team members
· Duties include, but not limited to, tracking and filing all paperwork, creating and updating spreadsheet logs for
various customer service functions
· Bi-lingual a plus, English and Spanish
Required Knowledge and Skills
- People skills consistent with a role that involves significant employee / client interaction and support
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written with an emphasis on quality, clarity and consistency
- Prior work experience using ERP platform like Chempax
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel & Outlook
- Proven critical thinking skills combined with decisiveness
- Ability to manage client interactions and aiding in the resolution of urgent matters
Required Knowledge and Skills - Continued
- Goal oriented and driven toward excellence through exhibiting an initiative-taker, proactive, take-charge attitude
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment while maintaining flexibility in the face of change
- 5+ years’ experience in customer service
Education
· Associate degree or higher

Compensation: $42,000.00 annually, after 90 days probation, an increase to $45,000.00 with raises in January.
