Job Description

TOP 3 MUST HAVE SKILLS:

1. Hands-on experience in formulating lipid nanoparticles at small to mid-scale using microfluidics

2. Hands-on experience in characterizing lipid nanoparticles loaded with nucleic acids (e.g. Ribogreen, DLS)

3. Hands-on experience in lyophilization of lipid nanoparticles.

REPORTING DETAILS: On-site, 5 days/wk (in Lab)

Job description:

As a Research Associate in the Nucleic Acid Delivery, Formulations & Bioanalysis department, you will become a part of a multinational and diverse team consisting of fellow Laboratory Technicians, Specialist/Scientists and a global department manager. The goal of the team is to develop synthetic/non-viral nanomedicines, apply advanced analytical characterization techniques and translate these to preclinical and clinical studies through internal and external collaborations.

Essential Functions:

  • Regularly formulate and characterize lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) loaded with nucleic acids at small to mid-scale using microfluidics, ensuring reproducibility and scalability of the process while maintaining high product quality and consistency
  • Conduct freeze-drying studies to evaluate the stability of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) formulations, including assessing critical formulation parameters and optimizing freeze-drying cycles for maximum stability and efficacy of the final product
  • Communicate findings internally to team via presentations and written reports
  • Independent planning, execution, and documentation of experiments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred with 2 years’ minimum relevant experience required OR high school diploma with 8+ years’ relevant experience OR Associate or Vocational degree, 4+ years’ relevant experience may also be considered
  • Relevant experience can be a combination of industry and academic experience and should include some of the following:
  • Hands-on experience in formulating lipid nanoparticles at small to mid-scale using microfluidics
  • Experience with analytical methods, this may include biophysical methods like dynamic light scattering (DLS) and fluorescent based assay (e.g. Ribogreen/PicoGreen), chromatography, pH, etc.
  • Hands-on experience in lyophilization of lipid nanoparticles.
  • Independently operate good lab maintenance and equipment SOPs, etc
  • Experience with automation
