Position Summary:
As a Senior Energy Engineer you will be a part of the engineering team and will be responsible for identifying and implementing energy efficiency projects and providing technical support to customers and contractors. In this role, the senior energy engineer will provide energy advice and coordination services for energy efficiency programs. These services include building maintenance, lighting systems, building controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Experience in the technical elements of energy-consuming equipment in commercial and industrial buildings (lighting (LED, Fluorescent, HID), HVAC system, hot water systems, compressed air System building envelope, refrigeration, integrated design) and how it affects utility consumption and demand, to help build a business case to prioritize recommendations and how they affect savings and first cost.
Work with business and building owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance in participating in energy efficiency programs.
Support Junior and mid-level engineers, energy advisors, and inspectors with technical guidance and complicated projects.
Subject Matter Expert for both internal and external clients
Evaluate and process energy efficiency projects and review electrical, mechanical, and architectural plans.
Enter project data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings and manage current projects.
Ensure compliance with all quality and safety policies
Maintains current knowledge of advances and new technologies and alternative energy options, especially related to construction and design. Evaluate new technologies through relationships with manufacturers
Uses engineering software to create, analyze, or interpret graphical representations of energy data and information.
Initiate and coordinate improvements to the work processes in place
Provide strategic technical advice to the engineering team, company, and clients
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Environmental), Technical Science(s), or a similar four-year degree
7 to 10 years of experience in energy or process-related engineering projects
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
Must be able to complete technical and financial analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Project Management experience
Energy audit experience
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Must be able to work under tight deadlines
Excellent client-facing communication skills
Desired Certifications:
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Professional Engineer (PE) designations
Certified Metering and Verification Professional (CMVP) designation or experience with Metering and Verification
Travel Requirements:
Minimum travel (less than 5%)
