Insight Global is seeking a Sales Account Executive in the Federal Market to be responsible for managing sales and relationships for networking equipment and services within the Federal Sector. This role will be remote with travel to the Washington D.C. and surrounding area for client meetings. You will be tasked with developing and executing strategic sales plans to secure new business and will need to build and nurture relationships with key influencers and decision-makers to drive sales to closure. Key qualifications include being a confident self-starter with the ability to build and maintain valuable relationships at all organizational levels within the Federal government. The candidate should have a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a sales team, along with strong strategic thinking skills. Additionally, he/she must be capable of generating customer excitement and consistently meeting/exceeding revenue targets.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
- Exceed bookings and revenue quotas by meeting quarterly and annual goals.
- Leverage existing network of federal contacts to develop a robust pipeline of new opportunities, both short- and long-term.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities in our CRM.
- Provide regular updates to Tellabs management on pipeline activity, bookings, and revenue.
- Develop comprehensive account plans and strategies for targeted accounts.
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with Federal customers, from CIO/CTO levels to IT staff and contractors.
- Build and nurture relationships with Federal Systems Integrators (FSIs) and Value-Added Resellers (VARs) to support opportunities within DoD end-user accounts, including relationships with executives and sales teams at these companies.
- Communicate end-customer strategic initiatives, priorities, and programs with sales leadership.
- Represent company at select trade shows, customer events, and partner events.
- Lead proposal development efforts by coordinating with internal technical resources.
- Identify barriers to winning business and develop strategies to overcome them.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience supporting federal customers
- Record of sales experience and success within the federal market
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with senior-level executives in the Federal Government
- Working knowledge of enterprise network technology (IP/Ethernet)
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Nice to Have Skills & Experience :
- Experience using NetSuite
- Knowledge of the Passive Optical LAN (PON) marketplace or Data Networking
- Professional sales development training
