TCI has an immediate need for an IT Project Scheduler in Washington D.C. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. This is not a C2C opportunity. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of extensions and/or hire.
SUMMARY
The IT Project Scheduler provides the IT Program Manager administrative support to assist with the delivery and administration of the Program objectives. The role is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining a user schedule for Windows 11 migration with each user placed in a specific time slot or batch, working with users to reschedule when necessary, and communicating changes to the wider project team.
This individual works closely with IT Project Managers, stakeholders and external suppliers to monitor project progress, update project plans, and communicate project status, risks, and issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain a detailed migration plan for both Active Directory and Windows 11 deployments.
- Create user schedule for migration with each user placed in a specific time slot / batch, work with users to reschedule time slot, when necessary, maintain user schedule for migration and communicate to wider team regarding changes.
- Develop a comprehensive migration schedule, including defining migration user groups and schedule for each group, and work with the business on rescheduling specific users as required.
- Continuously monitor the migration schedule, track progress, identify any delays, and adjust the plan as needed to ensure timely completion.
- Create a communication calendar outlining key milestones, communication points, and training schedules for users throughout the migration process.
- Schedule and manage communication activities; Organize user information sessions, training webinars, and Q&A sessions to keep users informed and prepared.
- Conduct dependency analysis: Identify any dependencies between applications or systems that might impact the migration schedule.
- Estimate migration timeframes based on the complexity of user environments and available resources, estimating the duration of each migration phase.
- Manage resource allocation: Schedule the availability of IT staff and resources to support the migration activities across different phases.
- Develop and maintain contingency and back-up plans to address potential issues that may arise during scheduling or execution.
- Support workstream planning and status tracking, maintaining program and project plans
- Track project and program decisions and actions
- Maintain document management, including management of the program/project repositories, proactive identification of required deliverables and sign-off processes, tracking of deliverable sign-off.
REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of experience as an IT Project/Program Coordinator highly preferred.
- Proven experience in planning and coordinating IT migrations with Windows (and/or cloud experience).
- Strong understanding of Windows 11 deployment methods and best practices.
- Knowledge or understanding of Active Directory domain migration processes.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Understanding of workstream plans and to proactively look ahead to spot where Project/Workstream Managers need to be initiating deliverables and activities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, commitment to accuracy and a genuine curiosity to learn, question, and challenge to understand the program being delivered and be able to spot errors, inconsistencies, and gaps.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
DESIRED (nice to have) EXPERIENCE
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Online, Azure Dev Ops, and ServiceNow experience preferred.
- Proven experience in planning and coordinating IT migrations (ideally with Windows and/or cloud experience).
- CAPM / PMP certification desirable.
- Experience working in a law firm environment (or a similar professional service/consulting culture) in global and remote teams preferred.
- Prior experience working with Information Security projects is beneficial, but not required.
