Role Description

Moonello is seeking a passionate and driven Social Media Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in elevating our brand and those of our clients.


With a focus on LinkedIn and B2B marketing, the specialist will be responsible for managing social media marketing campaigns, creating engaging social media content, implementing digital marketing strategies, and communicating effectively with the target audience to promote Moonello's services.


This is an exciting opportunity for a local Southeast Michigan-based content creator to make a significant impact at a dynamic agency.


This role will begin as a 3-month contract position, with the potential for full-time employment based on performance and the right fit for you.



What You'll Do / Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies for Moonello and our diverse clientele, with a focus on LinkedIn for B2B engagement, aligning with overall marketing goals.


  • Create compelling and engaging content across various platforms, including text, image, and video formats, ensuring brand consistency and platform appropriateness. This will involve being comfortable being on camera.


  • Manage and grow our online communities by fostering interactions, responding to comments and messages, and building relationships with followers and industry influencers.


  • Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring social media trends, identifying new opportunities (platforms, features, content formats), and adapting strategies accordingly.


  • Analyze performance data using social media analytics tools to track progress, measure success (engagement, reach, lead generation), and optimize campaigns for maximum impact.


  • Collaborate with the marketing and development teams to ensure consistent brand messaging, align social media efforts with other marketing initiatives, and leverage cross-promotional opportunities.


  • Generate creative ideas for social media campaigns that capture attention and drive results, and be open to exploring and leveraging emerging social media platforms and features.


  • Research and understand the nuances of our target industries to tailor content and messaging effectively for each client and campaign.


  • Produce high-quality video content suitable for platforms like TikTok, Meta Reels, and YouTube Shorts, with a focus on educational, entertaining, and brand-building material.


  • Monitor social media metrics such as reach, engagement, follower growth, and website traffic to assess the effectiveness of campaigns, adjust strategies accordingly, and report on performance to stakeholders.


  • Manage social media budgets (if applicable) for paid campaigns, ensuring cost-effective spending and optimal ROI.


  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify best practices and opportunities for differentiation.


  • Stay informed about industry best practices and algorithm changes to ensure optimal organic reach and engagement.



Who You Are / Qualifications / Requirements


  • Proven experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role, with a strong understanding of social media marketing principles, particularly in the B2B space with a focus on LinkedIn.


  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging content in various formats (text, image, video) tailored to different social media platforms.


  • Experience managing social media communities and building online relationships.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and platforms.


  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and the ability to interpret data to inform strategy.


  • Proficiency with social media management tools is preferred.


  • Experience with paid social media advertising is a plus.


  • Demonstrated success in growing a personal or brand social media presence, particularly on LinkedIn.


  • An understanding of SEO principles and how they relate to social media is a plus.


  • A proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented individual who takes initiative and is eager to learn and grow.


  • A team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.


  • An organized and detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Someone based in Southeast Michigan and able to work in person at our coworking locations.



Bonus Points


  • Graphic Design Skills (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite). We want to move away from overused templated tools such as Canva and Adobe Express.
  • Experience with paid social media advertising.
  • A familiarity with video editing software is desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in growing a personal or brand social media presence, particularly on LinkedIn.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
