Clinical Veterinarian, Part-Time

Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group Kelly OCG, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking aa Clinical Veterinarian for a long-term engagement at one of our Global medical device clients in Santa Clara., CA.


Schedule: minimum 10hrs/month, flexible for more hours

Compensation: $80-150/hr


Summary:

This position in Scientific Affairs is responsible for providing clinical veterinary support for the Animal Care and Use Program at the Santa Clara facility. This position reports to the Attending Veterinarian (AV) and is the backup AV when required.


Responsibilities:

Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and company, procedures and guidelines, this position:

Provide high quality veterinary care to research animals in support of company portfolio.

Complete duties delegated by the AV.

Provide backup support for the AV by fulfilling the AV responsibilities specified in the applicable regulations, codes and guidelines.

Review or consult on research animal proposals submitted for IACUC review.

Participate in IACUC meetings or inspections as necessary.

May require veterinary care coverage on weekends and/or holidays.

Maintain the relevant sections of the animal care program, SOPs, and training documents to assure the quality of site operations and regulatory compliance.

Interact with in preclinical personnel to understand their research needs, engaging them in a flexible and constructive manner to address matters of ethical review with a focus on 3Rs, humane endpoints and adverse effects.

Train colleagues in techniques and principles which promote 3Rs, in particular anesthesia and analgesia.

May assist in the conduct of internal audits and other inspections such as USDA and AAALAC.


Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine/Veterinary Medical Doctor AND 2 years of experience in clinical veterinary medicine

Licensure in the State of California DACLAM or board eligible preferred
