Bridal Merchandiser

 

This is a valuable role within the Product department – learning and growing alongside a team of other Merchandisers under the JA Inc. umbrella. In this role you will be responsible for multi-brand Merchandising, collaboration with other departments with initiatives, and enhancing our product as an industry expert. 

 

This is a full-time role, reporting to the Merchandising Manager within the Product Department. 

 

Job Responsibilities -   

 

Merchandising:  

  • Responsible for creating design calendar for sketch submissions and deadlines as well as marketing calendar for social media images and posts 
  • Prepare a merchandising plan including collection must-haves, suggested trends, themes, assortment gaps, per designer and per factory with pricing 
  • Travel to Trunk Shows, Bridal Events, and have regular store check-ins to leverage the merchandising team; staying on the pulse of retail partners requests, consumer asks and the needs of the evolving industry (Roughly 3 visits per quarter to your major market)  
  • Comprise travel reports after every trip outlining the above 
  • Assist with updating CS Guide each season with new styles/swatches. Remove any discontinued styles 
  • Work together with product team with line review set up: Unpacking, steaming, organizing showroom, tagging all samples, merchandising all samples 
  • Entering new designs, sketches, and factory numbers into PLM 
  • Assist with filing and merchandising sketches 
  • Assist with photography to ensure styles are being shot correctly (straps in correct spots, accessories included, etc). Create shot list with recommendations on how to shoot 
  • Responsible for organizing all photographs, ensuring correct naming, uploading to our systems, and sharing with Tech Designers / Product Ops 
  • Assist with marking holds/reworks/and cancels into PLM 
  • Enter Similar Styles into PLM for Marketing to put on website 
  • Assist Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing with any product related issues or inquiries   
  • Track, inspect and inventory product from Line Review to and from shoots (partner with Loaner Coordinator) 
  • Inspect, clean, and repair all gowns when they are received back from shoots (with help from inspection department) 
  • Create a library of available supplies and manage the selection, inventory and shipment to any shows, shoots, etc. 
  • Help organize and sell Robin Hood’s and designer originals (with Loaner Coordinator and Sales Department) 
  • Perform product inspections as needed by the Operations Department 
  • Collect feedback from reps and retailers to stay current with trends in different regions 
  • Merchandise new design sketches and provide changes/edits to designers before submission to factories. Analyze each brand to ensure proper assortment of all collections, reduce duplication, and identify any voids 
  • Attribute sketches to determine and analyze line assortment on boards 
  • Assist with the global pricing of all new styles for each brand 
  • Prepare weekly meeting notes to review with your manager – counseling and collaborating on the daily, monthly and quarterly operations of the role and department 


 

 

Marketing/Merchandising Crossover:  

  • Style of the Month – Assigned Brands 
  • Create Sales Presenters for each brand. Maintain updates when necessary 
  • Assist with adding in alt options images   
  • Enter Trends, Matching Accessories and Similar Styles into PLM for Marketing to put on website 
  • Assist on photo shoots as needed: support by helping organize supplies, coordinate materials and attending to ensure dresses are clean, steamed, and ready to shoot 
  • Assist with creating shot lists for photoshoots and noting key product info to ensure styles are being shot correctly 
  • Assist with photoshoots for Lookbook photos   
  • Assist with internal photoshoots 
  • Assist with retouching notes on alt options 
  • Support Wholesale Marketing Coordinator with Point-of-Sale Material distribution and inventory maintenance 
  • Market assistant (help with markets by setting up and as sales support) 
  • Team with Marketing to merchandise website PLP's for each brand during B2C launches and website refreshes 
  • Review inventory on a monthly basis to communicate with the social media team strong styles to push  

 

 

Main Requirements:   

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills  
  • Must be able to travel as apart of our strategy
  • Experience in ERP and Creative Suite 
  • Preferably experience in fashion retail/wholesale; bridal experience is a plus
