A highly skilled and detail-oriented Precision Machining Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing machining processes to produce high-precision components. This role requires a deep understanding of materials, machining techniques, and quality standards to ensure the production of parts that meet or exceed customer specifications.
What you are doing as a Precision Machining Engineer:
· Design and implement machining processes to achieve high precision and efficiency.
· Develop and optimize CNC machining programs, tooling, and fixturing for various materials.
· Identify and resolve process inefficiencies or quality issues.
· Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and equipment for specific materials and tolerances.
· Conduct tooling trials and evaluate performance to improve productivity and quality.
· Maintain and calibrate machining equipment to ensure accuracy.
· Work closely with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of components.
· Review and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models to develop machining strategies.
· Recommend design modifications to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
· Establish and monitor quality control procedures for machined components.
· Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues.
· Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments such as CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
· Lead initiatives to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
What you need as a Precision Machining Engineer:
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience in precision machining or related roles.
· Proficiency in CNC programming (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, or similar software).
· Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
· Experience with materials such as metals, alloys, plastics, and composites.
· Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
