Job description Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customer engineering and internal cross-functional team members to design, build, and test components or final products.
- Investigate and develop mechanical design concepts to achieve product performance requirements.
- Define, build, and characterize physical prototypes on assigned mechanical packages/components.
- Perform tolerance analysis on parts designs to ensure requirements for assembly, functionality, and cosmetics can be met.
- Could you create design documentation including specifications and drawings required for manufacturing assigned part/assemblies?
- Conduct mechanical performance evaluation on components, subsystems, and full assemblies as well as perform a thorough analysis of results.
- Work directly with NPI and manufacturing to optimize part and assembly design for manufacturability, cost, and quality.
- Communicate results through informal peer reviews as well as presenting at formal design reviews.
- Work closely with manufacturing to define, specify, and validate test equipment/processes related to assigned parts and/or assembly designs.
- Support prototype and production part and assembly build, both remotely and onsite at the factory.
- Collaborate with customer and internal team, to develop and validate new manufacturing or assembly procedures to meet product performance requirements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and recommend design changes to prevent future occurrences.
Key Qualifications:
- A bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Electrical Engineering field is required.
- Experience in product or process development/bring-up and qualification will be a plus.
- Bilingual in both English and Mandarin will be highly preferred.
