CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, US OPERATIONS
Role and Core Function:
Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s administrative and financial services and departments. Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts as well as researches and develop new business opportunities. Providing insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the Group Vice President to establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion. Analyze new business opportunities for US Operations to include: Potential existing product line expansion and developing new product lines; Potential investment opportunities related to the Group’s poultry business
- Defines and implements strategic financial objectives for the US Operations; facilitates measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the Group Executive.
- Administer and manage supplier contracts to ensure the terms are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, guidelines and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws.
- Facilitates implementation of new systems and major modifications of existing systems to reduce downtime.
- Oversee and administer all Lease and Insurance contacts for the Group - Select and engage consultants, auditors and investors.
- Manage financial planning and analysis department.
- Participate in weekly conference calls with Lenders, Vendors and Executive Leadership Team.
- Manage Lender Agreements and Relationships, including but not limited to reporting on and forecasting financial covenants.
- Prepare and execute regular presentations to lenders and the Group Executive.
- Review and analyze monthly financial results and cash flow and provide recommendations.
- Maintain forecasts of cash flows and key financial drivers.
- Knowledge of and provide input on the companies’ risk management portfolio.
- Work with the US Operations team to set agreed performance, profit margins and budget targets.
- Work with the team to set pricing methods and strategies and apply competitive intelligence and/or market conditions to review prices of products on the market.
- Review gross margins and performances with the Group Vice President on a periodic basis.
- Arrange and oversee the financing of project expansions to the operation.
- Keep abreast of all technological advancements/trends within the industry.
- Perform other functions as assigned from time to time.
Educational Requirements:
- Master’s in Financial Accounting or related field from a reputable tertiary Institution
- CPA certification.
- Additional Finance/Banking/Accounting based certifications preferred
Experience:
- At least ten (10) years of experience as Chief Financial Officer or similar role.
- Experience in financial management and operations management.
Specialized Techniques/Knowledge/Competencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of D365 accounting software is critical.
- Sound Knowledge of local and international banking and trade financing.
- Sound Knowledge of domestic and international purchasing and trading.
- Sound Knowledge of US Corporate tax.
- Excellent people and communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to formulate strategies, policies and create new approaches to adverse situations.
- Sound knowledge of project management principles and techniques.
