Do you have a technical background in the pharmaceutical space who has made the transition into business development or is looking to make the transition to business development? Our client is looking for a business development leader to use their product development or formulation background to build relationships with influencers & stakeholders within the respective client organizations in their Midwest territory.
Responsibilities:
- Generates new leads and opportunities leveraging the company’s and incumbents’ network.
- Builds solid, trusting, and measurable relationships with clients and companies while developing a complete understanding of client needs.
- Participates in client visits, regional and national trade shows, and conferences as required.
- Negotiates and draft proposals with the customers, conducts regular business reviews/updates, as well as establishes timelines to measure performance.
- Resolves client issues, complaints and anticipates key account improvements by way of project management guidance and outreach.
- Identifies market trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets.
- Participate in site management team and planning meetings, including setting objectives and strategies as well as taking accountability for implementation and results.
- Plans and presents reports on account progress, goals, and strategic initiatives to share with team members and stakeholders for company forecasting & planning activities.
- Analyzes customer data to provide measurable customer relationship management quarterly and annually, while accurately forecasting key account pipeline for projected growth.
- Manages both existing pipeline and new business opportunities.
- Interfaces with Inside Sales & Marketing to develop content targeted to key client segment(s); preparation activities for tradeshows will include scheduling key account meetings.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline, business, or marketing.
- 5 years pharmaceutical drug product development experience.
- Track record of technical leadership, including technical conference and client presentations.
- 2 years in a client-facing role preferred.
