Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Quality Engineer I – Software Configuration Management for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position is responsible for supporting Software quality during product development and implementation of improvements. They will also develop, maintain, and deploy Software Quality Plans and activities that translate customer requirements into planned activities. In addition, the Quality Engineer – SCM will maintain & support software baselines. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently.

Job Responsibilities
Responsible for Software quality system development and supporting product Software quality improvements
Develop, maintain, and deploy Software quality plans & activities that translate customer requirements into planned activities
Perform analyses of program requirements and prepares responsive Software quality plans, procedures, schedules, and resource allocations to assure optimum quality support
Provide ongoing Software quality system support to include participating in internal audits, ensuring implementation of peer reviews, adherence to Software Configuration Management processes, and root cause corrective actions
Maintain & support software baselines
Review technical documentation and specifications for completion and adherence to customer requirements
Provide input into the existing Software CM processes and provide updates as needed
Instill best practice methods, procedures, and controls
Maintain and perform versioning and baseline control
Perform internal and/or external PCA and FCA of baselined and released code
Ability to work independently and to collaborate with junior engineers, technicians, and inspectors
Review and approve engineering/test and contractor documentation and provide input to assure that appropriate Software quality requirements are addressed
Lead Software product quality improvement teams and participates in Failure Review Boards
Provide technical support for Software Build & Compilation/Test/Inspection of completed executables
Participate in resolving customer quality issues and driving root cause and corrective action on process and product quality issues
Assist in developing and deploying SPC initiatives
Job Responsibilities Part II
Analyze and execute projects independently
Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer, as required
Lead and execute customer quality program requirements
Develop and generate statistical reports on inspection activities and results, new product or process testing results, etc. and recommend action as required
Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
Experience with Compilers, Software Build tools, C++, Java, Python, Jenkins
Experience with Quality tools (Six Sigma tools, statistics)
Experience with Omnify/Empower or other PLM Tools
Technical expertise and application domain knowledge
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills
Ability to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective action
