Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgery Department. In this role, you will serve as a critical member of the surgical team, ensuring patient safety, managing the operating room environment, and advocating for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The RN plays a vital role in collaborating with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgeries.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and monitor patient needs before, during, and after surgery.
* Prepare the operating room with appropriate instruments and equipment.
* Ensure a sterile environment is maintained, upholding all safety and infection control standards.
* Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide intraoperative support.
* Act as the patient's advocate throughout the surgical process.
* Coordinate communication between the surgical team and other departments.
* Accurately document patient care and surgical procedures.
Qualifications
* Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
* Licensure: Current Texas RN license required.
* Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
* Experience: 1-2 years of experience in surgical services or the operating room is required.
* Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
