Internal Medicine Physician at TeamHealth summary:

An Internal Medicine Physician is responsible for providing primary care in an inpatient rehab setting, managing chronic diseases and complex medical cases. The role includes collaboration with an interdisciplinary medical team and mentoring nurse practitioners while ensuring effective patient care. The physician will engage with patients and their families, making critical decisions to enhance treatment delivery in a post-acute care environment.

TeamHealth has the perfect opportunity for you working one or more days per week. This clinician role will include primary care consulting work in an inpatient rehab facility located in the Elizabethtown, Kentucky, area. You will round Monday through Friday with some weekend rotations with the flexibility to choose your daily rounding schedule.

Job Duties:
  • Primary care rounding in inpatient rehab hospital
  • Manage chronic disease, diagnose illnesses and medical conditions, and implement plan of care
  • Collaborate with clinicians, facility leaders and others regarding care and services
  • Build relationships with your patients, patients' family members, and facility staff to facilitate effective treatment delivery
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship to our nurse practitioners
  • Conduct clinical case reviews, as needed and share tools, information, and guidelines as they relate to quality of care
  • Represent TeamHealth on appropriate external levels engaging and establishing/maintaining relationships within the post-acute care community
  • Collaborate with leadership to review care coordination initiatives, develop collaborative intervention plans, and share ideas about network management issues
Qualifications:
  • Primary care experience required
  • Inpatient rehab facility experience a plus
  • Active and unrestricted Kentucky license or application in process
  • Active and unrestricted DEA/prescriptive authority or application in process
Expected compensation is estimated salary range of $170,876 to $221,168 annually with no cap on productivity income potential.
