Neonatal - Perinatal Medicine Physician at Pivotal Placement Services, Inc summary:

As a Pediatric Neonatologist, the physician evaluates and treats neonatal patients, develops clinical pathways, and supervises care in the NICU. The role involves collaborating to enhance care quality and cost-effectiveness, while also educating pediatric residents and managing outpatient follow-ups for NICU graduates. This full-time position requires an MD or DO with board certification in Pediatric Neonatology and eligibility for a Florida medical license.

Job Description

Daily Responsibilities for a Pediatric Neonatologist
The Pediatric Neonatologist is responsible for:

  • Evaluating and treating patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Adhering, contributing, and developing clinical patient pathways to ensure a standardized approach to neonatal medicine.
  • Rounding with a Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) on NICU patients, as well as supervising the APP s attending high risk deliveries.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Act as attending consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization, depending on needs of patients, medical staff, and hospital.
  • Be the primary educator for the pediatric residents.
  • Providing appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participating in inpatient rounds and provide appropriate hand-off to the next team.
  • Establishing an outpatient NICU graduate clinic program.

Requirements for the Neonatologist

  • MD or DO
  • Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Neonatology
  • Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical license and DEA
  • Completed ACGME Training
