Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician at DirectShifts summary:

We are looking for a California-licensed Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric care across two outpatient clinic locations in Gilroy and Campbell, CA. This role includes clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and prescribing medications, with the flexibility to work full-time or part-time hours. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in a psychiatric setting and will play a vital role in enhancing patient care and collaborating with clinical teams.

We are seeking a California-licensed Psychiatrist for a full-time/part time , in-person position, providing services across two outpatient clinic locations in Gilroy and Campbell, CA.

The role for full time requires working 2 days per week at one location and 3 days at the other, based on the needs of each clinic. Typical working hours are from 9 AM 5:30 PM or 10 AM 6:30 PM, with some flexibility as needed.

Position Type: Full-time or Part-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead psychiatric care procedures in coordination with clinical teams.
  • Participates in clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans, including prescribing medications and conducting psychiatric evaluations.
  • Collaborate with program managers to ensure adherence to clinical standards.
  • Provides psychiatric services and consultation for staff development and best practice implementation.
  • Provide support for after-hours psychiatric crises when necessary.
  • Maintains licensure, attends required training, and represents the agency at city/state meetings.

Qualifications:

  • MD from an accredited institution.
  • Current California Medical Board License.
  • DEA registration to prescribe medications.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a psychiatric setting, preferably with children.
  • Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Valid California driver s license.
