Our client, located on the east side of Madison, is expanding their team and seeking multiple dedicated Customer Service Representatives to assist borrowers with resolving delinquent or default account statuses. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career in customer service.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Pay: $18.50 per hour (based on experience).
- Training: Starts 2/24/2025.
Responsibilities: - Serve as a reliable liaison between the school, servicer, and borrower.
- Provide exceptional counseling to borrowers regarding federal student loans, explaining options to resolve delinquencies or exit default status.
- Verify and update borrower demographic information, including email addresses.
- Respond professionally to email inquiries from internal and external customers, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Assist borrowers in identifying the best solutions for their loan situations, including payment arrangements, deferments/forbearances, repayment plans, loan forgiveness/discharge, and loan consolidation options.
- Clearly explain borrower rights, responsibilities, and the consequences of default.
- Navigate and utilize Excel spreadsheets effectively.
Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent; two years of post-secondary education (preferably in business or economics) is a plus.
- At least two years of customer service experience requiring strong oral and written communication skills and accurate data entry.
- One year of experience in student loans, financial aid services, or private banking loan services is preferred.
- Strong understanding of personal finances and financial literacy.
- Proficient in typing 40 WPM and/or achieving 6,000 keystrokes per hour for alpha/numeric data entry.
- Solid high school-level math, grammar, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
