- General Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

- Chemotherapy and Administration and Consultation: Administers PO, SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by physician; consults with other medical personnel and may provide expert information about chemotherapy, side effects, etc.; provides a variety of assistance to physicians.
- Assumes responsibility for clinic specific assignments.
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.
- Assists physician during conscious sedation patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
- Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.
- Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Delivers patient care competently.
- Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the clinic, time of discharge, and continued care via phone triage.
- Informs patient and family of clinic procedures.
- Patient Education: Provides chemotherapy related educational information to patients, family, etc.; answers inquiries and provides guidance as appropriate.
- Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegates tasks to support staff.
- Patient Follow Up: Schedules patient follow-up activities related to their treatment and assists with coordination of care by obtaining referrals and completing phone calls with the patients after their clinic visits.
Job Requirements
- 1 year of experience.
