Job Title: Junior Industrial Engineer
Location : Detroit, MI
Vital Tech Solutions is seeking a junior-level Industrial Engineer for an organization with a strong legacy spanning over 100 years. This direct-hire position will entail working underground 60% and above ground 40% (underground temp all year is 65* and while working above ground must be willing to work in all weather conditions)
Job Requirements:
- Analyzing demands for repair and improvements of site manufacturing equipment. Identifies solutions to recurring problems and proposes best solution to avoid same breakdown of equipment and production downtime.
- Responsible for applying engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in processing or manufacturing products
- Develops an efficient strategy for equipment, collecting all relevant data and information about the maintenance process and activities.
- Develops a strategy allowing an efficient use of the production/process equipment.
- Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or protecting techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
- Complies and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
- Analyzes existing equipment to reliability and identifies with operations opportunities to improve existing systems.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1-2 years of experience within Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
- Experience troubleshooting gearboxes and conveyors
- Must be savvy with Microsoft Office and especially Excel to track information.
- Understanding of fabrication tools
- CAD experience is a plus (not required)
- Will be required to communicate with vendors
- Must be open to learn and grow within the organization.
