Position Overview

We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Merchandising Manager to lead our product selection, inventory management, and website merchandising efforts. In this role, you will play a key part in driving sales, improving the customer experience, and ensuring our product assortment aligns with our customer needs and shopping habits.


Job Summary:

The Merchandising Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, and managing the lifecycle of apparel products, ensuring alignment with market trends, company objectives, and consumer demands. This role plays a key part in driving sales, managing inventory, and maintaining profitability through effective product assortment, vendor relationships, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.


Product Selection & Buying

  • Research and curate stylish, high-quality clothing and accessory selections that align with current trends, customer demands and our brand vision.
  • Collaborate with the owner to plan seasonal assortments and exclusive collections.
  • Maintain pricing strategy that is competitive yet meets profitability goals
  • Build relationships with vendors and negotiate terms for pricing, delivery, and exclusivity.

Website Merchandising

  • Work with merchandising team to optimize the presentation of products to maximize visibility, sales, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams to showcase new arrivals, promotions, and bestsellers.
  • Manage product launch and promotions calendar.
  • Work with Marketing to ensure key products are being featured in a way that appeals to customer preferences.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor stock levels, identify trends in sales performance, and ensure timely restocks of popular items.
  • Develop strategies to address overstock and slow-moving inventory, including markdowns or promotional events.
  • Work with vendors to coordinate timely product deliveries based on launch dates.

Sales Analytics & Insights

  • Analyze product performance KPI’s, including sell-through rates, conversion rates, margins and customer feedback.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine buying strategies and improve assortment planning.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance and key trends to inform business decisions.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team of merchandising professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the merchandising department.

Customer-Centric Strategy

  • Stay connected to customer preferences and feedback to anticipate their needs.
  • Enhance the online shopping experience with thoughtful product offerings and presentation.
  • Support marketing efforts by providing insight into trending products and consumer behavior.


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 3+ years in merchandising, buying, or a related role, ideally within an online clothing boutique or small business.
  • Education: Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends and boutique markets.
  • Proficiency in eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) and analytics tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of retail and ecommerce KPI’s
  • Personal Qualities: Entrepreneurial, trend-savvy, customer-focused, and adaptable. Results driven, strategic thinker with a strong ability to problem solve is an absolute must!
