Job Description
Assistant Director of Patient Services sought for Philadelphia Women’s Center, a state licensed ambulatory surgical center that has delivered excellence in abortion and reproductive healthcare for over 45 years, always at the forefront of best practices in our field. Our team members are committed to advocating and caring for people seeking legal, safe, compassionate and respectful abortion care, in addition to assistance for adoption services and prenatal care.

Under direct supervision of the Administrator of Philadelphia Women’s Center (PWC), the Assistant Director of Patient Services (ADPS) is the senior staff member primarily responsible for the oversight and creation of programs and projects aimed at continuously improving patient care and staff satisfaction. The Assistant Director of Patient Services acts as the onsite manager for the clinic’s day-to-day functioning. Ensures and promotes emotional well-being, equity, education, competency, and clear communication in both a sensitive and dynamic manner. Is the bridge between the Advocacy Center and Philadelphia Women’s Center. The ADPS maintains high standards of patient care through direct patient contact and staff hiring/education/assessment. Creates systems for non-biased pregnancy options counseling, abortion counseling, and post-abortion counseling for patients and their families. Serves as an advocate, educator, and support person for patients and staff.

The Assistant Director of Patient Services is directly involved in quality assessment, assurance, and improvement on both a small scale (working with individual patients) and a large scale (projects and programs aimed at improving the experience of all patients).

Responsibilities include:

- Oversee, troubleshoot, and innovate processes to support a patient-centered and efficient flow of care

- Work in cooperation with the clinic management team to create, implement and maintain all relevant protocols, policies and procedures

- Provide direct patient care and staff support, demonstrating excellent communication, listening, and compassionate care skills

- Maintain and oversee relevant trainings

Our team welcomes empathetic, committed, experienced staff with a strong work ethic, sense of humor and a desire to be a part of a team. The right candidates want to make a difference in the community, work with a diverse patient population, can multi-task, appreciate being challenged by a fast-paced work environment, and have a desire to work hands on with patients and fellow staff. Fluently bilingual preferred.

The ideal candidate must possess:
