Job Description

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering preferred (Equivalent field experience will be considered)

6-12 years' experience in system integration involving industrial controls

2-5 years of experience on heavy industrial or mobile equipment

Experience with various industrial controls applications utilizing Rockwell Software PLC and HMI programming

Experience with both AC & DC motors, medium and large size hp motors.

Experience using 3D routing and assembly drawings (SolidWorks experience preferred)

Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity

Strong presentation skills and technical communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft applications.


NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in creating electrical schematics (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)

Experience in various communication protocols (RS232/422/485, TCP/IP, CANOpen, J1939, ProfiBus/ProfiNet, EtherCAT, etc.)

Experience with various industrial controls applications utilizing PLC and HMI programming such as ABB, Siemens, Schneider, or B&R Experience with designing control panels per NEC and UL508A

Field experience with on-site customer implementation (installation / commissioning / troubleshooting / support) Analytical capacity for creative problem-solving.


JOB DESCRIPTION

This role will be directly involved in the complete life cycle of electrical equipment & electrical designs. The primary focus is extending the life cycle of multiple machine models’ install base by developing replacement and enhancement designs. These projects cross between instrumentation specification to design tasks to field support. Secondary focus functional areas include project management, reverse engineering, plus engineering support activities for other marketing, purchasing, and customer service. Target equipment is multiple manufacturer heavy machinery used in the surface mining industry. We are seeking an experienced candidate that can design hardware & software machine controls, The candidate needs understanding of the critical characteristics of reliable and user-friendly products and their impact to lifecycle, manufacturability, maintenance, and serviceability, This role will be collaborating in a small team environment with a high level of autonomy and freedom to pursue creative design ideas. A strong desire to continue expanding one's knowledge base is important since our team integrates advanced and emerging technologies. Travel (5%) is required to troubleshoot machine issues and support customers in the field.
