ProspectBlue seeks a collections specialist for their client in Richmond, VA!

The Collections Specialist manages and resolves outstanding accounts receivable by working with customers to secure payments, analyze account discrepancies, and maintain strong relationships. This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to meet collection targets and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to collect overdue payments professionally and courteously.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts, including misapplied payments or billing issues.
• Maintain detailed records of all collection activities, including communication and payment agreements.
• Collaborate with the finance and sales teams to resolve account disputes and ensure timely billing.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on delinquent accounts to meet monthly collection goals.
• Negotiate payment plans or settlements within company guidelines to recover outstanding debts.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns.
