About the Role:
UItrasound Technologist provides optimal ultrasound exams and/or procedures in an efficient and safe manner, to facilitate the physician's diagnosis. Customers may include neonates, infants, children, adolescent, adult, or geriatric customers.
Responsibilities

- Maintains accurate patient medical records. Ensures confidentiality of all medical records.
- Utilizes Imaging and hospital computer systems correctly.
- Interacts with physicians, co-workers, customers, and families in professional manner.
- Has access to medications appropriate to their job duties.
- Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.
- The team member is accountable to demonstrate proficiency for the skills outlined in the appropriate position skills list.
- The team member is accountable to maintain skill proficiency, including improvement where deemed necessary, and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list.
- Applicable Only to the Heart and Vascular Institute Vascular Lab:
- Interprets and presents preliminary examination findings to referring physicians/reading cardiologist for critical findings.
- Recognizes appropriate indications for required examinations. Identifies situations where further study is important from a clinical perspective.
- Assists customers during the course of the exam/procedure for issues of comfort and care.
- Assists with the goal of acquiring IAC accreditation for HVI and once achieved a continuance to comply with IAC accreditation guidelines and standards.
- Assist with collection of QA data.
- Maintenance of positive study, procedure and stent surveillance logs.
- Participates in activities for professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
- Cleaning and re-stocking of vascular testing and/or procedure rooms. • Recognizes and complies with legal, regulatory, accrediting and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility.
- Understands and follows principles and standards as outlined in the facility's Code of Conduct.
- Protects customer and team member privacy and only accesses customer and/or team member related information as needed to perform job duties.
- Reports violations or areas of concern to supervisor or Corporate Compliance Officer via established methods of communication.
- Recognizes and complies with legal, regulatory, accrediting and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited program in Sonography. - Required
- 1-5 years previous experience - Preferred.
- Registered in Sonography within 2 years of graduation from an accredited program in Sonography - Required
Licensure/Certification(s) Mandatory:
- RDMS Registered or Registry Eligible (not required in HVI Vascular); new graduates need to obtain within 24 months of hire.
- BLS Certification - Facility Standard
- HVI Vascular only: RVT Registered or Registry Eligible; new graduates are required to obtain within 12 months of hire through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). - Facility Standard
