Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Minimum one year electrophysiology experienced: Required

 

Approved Licenses/Certifications: Radiology Tech preferred, but willing to considered EP trained RN or CVT

  • RT: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R): Required and Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Radiologic Technologist License: Required in OR
  • RN: Oregon Registered Nurse License
  • CVT: Current CVT or RCIS certification
  • ALL: BLS and ACLS certification: Required
  • ALL: RCES within one year of hire

Essential Functions:

  • Assists physicians with procedures. Operates all special procedure equipment and can select and modify technical factors as needed. Acts as a resource for specialized or complicated procedures; consistently applies knowledge from complex situations to improve practice, and shares improvements with team members.
  • Monitors, records and evaluates patient vital signs throughout procedures. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures; regularly practices aseptic techniques; strictly obeys isolation and infection control procedures.
  • Responsible for all EP equipment associated with procedure and patient monitoring equipment; reports any malfunctions and regularly practices preventive maintenance procedures; demonstrates the ability to perform simple troubleshooting and repair.
  • Assists the Electrophysiologist during procedures through mapping, scrubbing, or monitoring patient as assigned/required.
  • Completes appropriate documentation at the start and end of any special procedures Performs general office duties as requested. Keeps area stocked at all times; cleans and disinfects equipment after each patient use; daily cleans special procedures room.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
