Job Description

Position: Mechanical Engineer (software modeling/customer interface/design)

Location: Needham, MA

About Us: ECM PCB Stator Tech uses advanced Motor CAD and patented PCB (printed circuit board) Stator technology to create next generation electric motors for multiple applications. ECM’s award-winning PrintStator software powers the design, manufacture and integration of PCB Stator motors that are lighter, quieter, and more energy and space efficient across a broad range of use cases. ECM has collaborated with multiple organizations to create optimized motor solutions across many industries: HVAC, consumer electronics, e-mobility, fitness, medical, robotics, renewable energy, aerospace, defense, and more. The possibilities are limitless. Come be a part of a disruptive electric motor design and software company!

Job Overview: ECM is reshaping the future of electric motor technology and has several exciting full-time Mechanical Engineering opportunities available. In this role, you will assist with new customer application inquiries, research and development, prototype design and new product launches. You will also contribute to design validation testing, cost reductions/value engineering, and manufacturing improvements through collaboration with ECM’s software programmers, sales, engineering and quality teams; and suppliers and customers. Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Engineering with 1-3 years of related work experience (though we also welcome ambitious and enthusiastic 2024 graduates to apply too!).

  • High level of mechanical aptitude. Experience designing rotating machines, preferably electric motors, is a plus. In-depth understanding of design for manufacturability and manufacturing processes in general.

  • Proficiency using CAD software for machine design; this may be solely through design courses.

  • Working knowledge of standards applicable to electric motors.

  • Ability to self-motivate, manage time effectively, plan projects, communicate productively with other team members.
