Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
15-25 years of experience in electrical engineering
Experience providing electrical engineering support in the project's development stage
Knowledge of reviewing electrical design documents from EPC companies
Experience working with and reviewing drawings of equipment within distribution, generation, substation, transmission, switch gear, etc.)
Familiar with design codes, standards, regulations, and guides - OSHA, NEC, NFPA, etc.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Professional Engineer (PE) License
EPC or LNG background
Proficient with ETAP software
Substation experience
Knowledge of Arc Flash studies
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Engineer for an LNG Provider client. This role will be supporting both the development and execution phases of their LNG projects with more focus to the development phase. This individual should be highly skilled in engineering design, as they will be reviewing the electrical design documents for power distribution infrastructure from the EPC contractor to provide guidance and recommendations to ensure the other engineering disciplines' requirements and industry specifications are met. This individual should be familiar with electrical regulations and have the ability to interact with and lead the utility companies. Other responsibilities for the role include guiding and reviewing enhancements to gas turbines and identifying issues and risks within HAZOP. The ideal candidate will have experience with Power Generation/Co-Generation, electric motors and substations and engineering design experience during all phases of a project. This role will sit in the Houston office Monday - Friday with every other Friday off. There will be possible occasional travel to the LNG sites (one day every few months).
