What you'll do:

Viasat has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Architect to join our team and help us continue to build on our successful 30-year legacy in end-to-end space, tactical, and enterprise network communications systems for our nations space, air, and terrestrial platforms!

This position provides a unique opportunity to develop pioneering phased array antenna technologies and work closely with our design team performing antenna performance modeling and cascade analysis. Our development team works closely with customers to develop multi-function systems from concept to implementation that support our nation's critical defense programs.

The day-to-day:

In this exciting and dynamic role, you will report into the Global Space Networks organization while working closely and collaboratively with other Viasat team members to resolve performance and technical challenges to enable development while documenting system design and requirements decomposition.

What you'll need:
  • 8+ years phased array domain experience with a Masters degree; 10+ years experience with a Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Phased array antenna performance analysis, modeling and design experience
  • Development and documentation of analysis, modeling, and simulation tools, particularly using MATLAB programming and analysis experience
  • Iterative and collaborative analysis and documentation of system design while decomposing and allocating requirements to enable development
  • Understands and tracks key technical and program performance requirements and objectives, analyzes user needs, and draws from RF antenna analysis experience to architect innovative solutions to difficult technical problems for large development program
  • Thoroughly understands and communicates key trade spaces
  • Strong technical leadership, applying methodical and pragmatic approach to evaluating key decisions to guide technical strategy
  • Ability to communicate effectively and share key information at appropriate levels of detail while listening to diverse perspectives across a large team and with US Government customers
  • Working knowledge of requirements management databases
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Active DoD TS SCI Clearance or ability/willingness to obtain clearance when administratively feasible
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestic travel
What will help you on the job:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Ph.D or Masters preferred.
  • Understanding of model-based system engineering techniques

Salary range:
$176,200.00 - $306,200.00 / annually
